I love
an expansive field.
Sunflowers in this one,
from a walk with a loved one.
The 13th century Persian Poet, Rumi, said it well,
“Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing
there is a field.
I will meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass
the world is too full to talk about.”
Oh, how life has grown these past months
to inviting fields.
“When the soul lies down in that grass
the world is too full to talk about.”
